We have been mired in a heat wave for some time now. This is really great for our tourism industry here in New Brunswick. Yesterday we were to have several thunder storms that did not materialize but we did have the rain. My planters and grass and garden were grateful to get the rain.
My perennials are growing like crazy. When I planted that garden, I did so because I am not really a gardener but over the years I have enjoyed looking after these plants. This year, however, has been different. I really am not a fan of the high heat and it does not really cool off until after dark so my plants are growing fast and furious without much care!
It is kind of like business, we can grow fast and furious and not pay too much attention to what is really happening. It is all fun and exciting until one day you realize that you have know idea where you are going. You have done created any goals and you are beginning to feel like you are on overload.
You know you need to do something but you are stifled. It is like my plants. I know they need to be trimmed and I want to do it but I am feeling held hostage by the heat. I have a choice, I could call my lawn care folks and let them do the job for me, which makes total sense because I have enough to do or I can let them continue to grow out of control, which is going to be a bigger problem down the road.
The same is true when you are an entrepreneur or when you have some important things that you want to accomplish. Is it worth taking a step back and hiring a coach to help you get on track? What could a coach do for you? An effective coach is a good listener and will ask great questions to help you dig deeper and find your own inner resources. Sometimes we just need that person in our court!
I don’t speak about this very often, but I am a Certified Personal and Executive Coach and I member of the International Coach Federation and I accept a limited amount of coaching clients per year. Yes, I can offer this online. If I can be of service to you, just contact me via my e-mail and we could set up a brief conversation to see if we are a good fit. email@example.com
